Russia’s AvtoVAZ, UAZ to take prolonged holidays
SAMARA, Dec 31 (PRIME) – Russian car maker AvtoVAZ will be on holidays from December 31 to January 17, and UAZ off-road vehicle producer will not work until February 1, company spokespeople told PRIME on Thursday.
“Yesterday was the last working day at the plant,” an AvtoVAZ spokesperson said. “The plant will be on holidays together with the whole country. Later company employees will be on a corporate holiday from 11 to 17.”
AvtoVAZ suspended production between January 1 and 18, May 1 and 11 and July 27 and August 16 in 2015.
According to the UAZ spokesperson, the plant will modernize its wielding facilities during the holidays and do maintenance works. The holidays do not cover maintenance and logistics workers.
“The holiday is not linked with falling output. This procedure happens every year,” the spokesperson said.
